Darcy knows he is falling for Elizabeth Bennet, but he doesn't want to be connected to her ill-bred family, so he struggles to put her out of his mind. Until he receives an anonymous valentine. Caroline Bingley sent the valentine, but Darcy thinks it is from Elizabeth Bennet.
Elizabeth thinks Mr. Darcy is an arrogant, disagreeable man, until he shows up on her doorstep, declaring his undying love for her. She is astonished. He is only half as obnoxious as he was before. What could have made the difference?
A Valentine for Darcy A Pride and Prejudice Variation edition by Jane Grix Romance eBooks
Caroline Bingley was desperate and desperate people do desperate things. When she bought a Valentine, and sent it to Mr. Darcy, she had no idea of the forces that she had put into motion. Oh-my-goodness, bless her heart.Mr. Darcy, misunderstood the ink blot on the initials CB, [yeah, she’s related to Charles], and thought it was EB and had come from Elizabeth. That started the ball rolling for a fast and furious race to Hertfordshire and into the arms of his beloved. Yeah, that didn’t work out exactly as he thought.
Needless to say, Elizabeth was a bit surprised to find Mr. Darcy [of all people] on her doorstep requesting an audience with Mr. Bennet. This just got better and better.
Caroline may have been desperate before; however, she soon transitioned into frantic when she saw her Mr. Darcy making eyes at Elizabeth. With a determination that only Caroline could muster, she pulled out the big guns in a last-ditch effort to secure Mr. Darcy… at any cost. Oh dear.
I always appreciate page time between ODC [our dear couple]. This gives them a chance to clear the air about issues between them such as… Bingley and Jane [resolved as Bingley showed up] and what really happened with Wickham. Needless to say, Elizabeth was as horrified as she was in canon, only this time she was able to see Darcy’s facial expressions and the plethora of emotions that Wickham evoked in him… hurt, anger, betrayal and disgust… among a few.
This was a short clean story that moved very quickly. It could be read in one setting. I enjoyed it.

A Valentine for Darcy A Pride and Prejudice Variation edition by Jane Grix Romance eBooks Reviews
I buy and enjoy all of Jane Grix’s works, this one included. This particular novel lacked some of the depth of plot and character I normally enjoy, but it’s still a very good read.
I enjoyed this more emotional open Darcy and found the this novella to be a sweet way to spend a little time. The only thing that distracted me from time to time was the editing mistakes were in a word or two was missing or quotation mark missing. Otherwise, a great little read with ODC having their happy ending despite a misunderstanding and interferences from Lady Catherine and Caroline Bingley.
This is a cute story that is perfect for February. In this alternative Darcy receives a valentines card and assumes it's from Elizabeth because the of the drawing. He reconsiders his infatuation and realizes that he Is in love with Elizabeth Bennet. So he goes to Bingley and tells all and the two of them go back to Meryton. As our beloved couple we know that Elizabeth at this point still dislikes Darcy so the road is a little bumpy but we do get our HEA.
This is a very short work, more of a novella than a novel, and with only one original thought -- the valentine. The valentine was a charming idea, but undeveloped. While this seemed a pretty twist on an old favorite, I found it quickly devolved in just a rehashing of Pride and Prejudice -- complete with many of Jane Austen's original words, which must have made putting the novel together quick and easy. Frankly, I've read Pride and Prejudice. You've got a new idea -- so take me somewhere new with it. The writer failed completely.
This is a wonderful sweet story about Valentines Day. Who knew a valentine could make so much difference. I really enjoyed this story a lot more than expected. You still have Caroline and Wickham, but most of it is as sweet as a candy heart. Do not miss this Valentine story.
This is exactly what it purports to be--a sweet, frothy Valentine's Day story. Perfect if you just want a short "awwww" story. Very enjoyable.
This short story has Caroline Bingley with a trait of her brother's, that of smudging and blotting when sending a valentine to Mr. Darcy. She is desperate to get him to propose and does more than hint at such on the card.
But the problem is that she bought the card a Mr. Gardiner's store and Elizabeth is the artist who drew the picture. That plus the fact that the initials she writes with the heart could be EB, could be CB. And when Mr. Darcy received the card, with Elizabeth having been so much on his mind, he just to the conclusion that it is EB.
And so it is that he and Bingley travel back to Hertfordshire both with the idea that winning their lady's hand will not be a major task. You know what they say, "Don't assume anything."
This was a sweet read. I have to hint that Caroline is not giving up even when she learns why her brother and Mr. Darcy are back at Netherfield.
